Protect Affordable American Energy

Dear [Lawmaker],

I am writing to urge you to take action this year to advance the priorities outlined in the American Petroleum Institute's 2026 Energy Agenda. As energy demand continues to rise across the country, families like mine are feeling the impact through higher utility bills and growing concerns about grid reliability.

Congress now has a critical opportunity to protect consumers and strengthen our nation's energy future.

The 2026 Energy Agenda lays out practical, common-sense steps that will help keep energy affordable, reliable, and secure. These include:
- Fixing the permitting system so that essential energy projects do not face years of unnecessary delay.
- Expanding access to America's energy resources, both onshore and offshore, to meet growing demand.
- Supporting investment and innovation, including workable regulations and tax credits that allow new technologies and lower-carbon solutions to scale.
- Protecting America's energy advantage by pushing back on foreign regulatory overreach and ensuring U.S. producers are not disadvantaged.
- Maintaining grid reliability, including the continued role of natural gas in meeting electricity demand.  I respectfully ask that you move forward with legislation and regulatory oversight that reflect the priorities in this agenda.
