As your constituent and a law-abiding concealed carry permit holder, I’m urging you to support H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act.

Florida is home to millions of responsible permit holders- the largest base in the country. Our state’s strong background check and training requirements ensure that those carrying concealed are among the most vetted and prepared citizens in America.

We also have one of the largest populations of active-duty military personnel and veterans, especially in coastal communities. These individuals have earned national recognition for their service and responsibility—yet without national reciprocity, their rights vary dramatically as soon as they cross a state line.

During hurricane evacuations, Floridians may travel across multiple states under urgent, stressful conditions. They should not risk losing their ability to protect themselves and their families during emergencies.

This issue also matters deeply to Hispanic and Cuban-American communities in South Florida, who overwhelmingly support the right to self-defense and the ability to legally carry.

H.R. 38 brings clarity, fairness, and consistency—without changing any state’s standards. I urge you to support this legislation and stand with responsible Floridians.
