I am writing to urge you to act immediately to reverse the devastating 4% Medicaid provider rate cuts that went into effect on September 1st. These cuts threaten the health, dignity and survival of Idaho’s most vulnerable residents – our seniors, people with disabilities and those with chronic conditions who depend on Medicaid for essential care. 
For years, nursing facilities, assisted-living communities, intermediate care facilities, home health agencies and hospice providers have operated without a rate increase since COVID, despite rising costs and workforce shortages. These providers are collapsing under the weight of this unsustainable burden. Quality care is declining. Staff shortages are worsening. Residents are losing access to vital services. 
These cuts don’t just impact seniors. They threaten families struggling to find care for aging parents, people with disabilities who depend on these services to live independently and vulnerable Idahoans relying on home health and hospice care to maintain their dignity, independence and quality of life. Idaho seniors deserve care and dignity, not cuts. 
Our state’s most vulnerable residents cannot afford to wait. I urge you to please prioritize their health and wellbeing by taking immediate action to stop these devastating cuts.
