LiUNA 980: Investing in Lunenburg’s Workforce and Future

To Members of Lunenburg’s Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission, The members of LiUNA Local 980 urge your approval of the Laurel Branch Solar project. We believe that when a project of this scale comes to town, it should be built by the people who live and work in the surrounding area. Under the Three Trades Agreement, this project guarantees that local union members will do the work. For many of our members, a project like Laurel Branch provides more than just a temporary job; it provides the training and stability needed to build a lifelong career. We aren’t asking for handouts, but for the chance to build our own future, with our own hands, in our own towns. This project allows our families to stay close to home and provides the county with the tax revenue needed to support essential services like schools and public safety. Please vote to approve Laurel Branch Solar and support the dignity of local labor in Lunenburg County.
