Millions of Americans have elevated lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a)—a genetic form of cholesterol that greatly increases the risk of heart attack and stroke. Because testing and new treatments are not covered, far too many patients go without on life-saving care.
Patients deserve to know their risk, and clinicians need the tools to treat their patients. We are calling on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to:
- Include Lp(a) testing in cardiovascular risk assessments
- Ensure fair coverage for upcoming Lp(a)-lowering therapies
- Remove barriers that delay diagnosis and treatment
Sign the petition and urge CMS to cover Lp(a) testing and treatment.
