Dear OPSB,

As a resident of Champaign County, I am writing to express my strong support for the Hillclimber Solar & Storage project and the opportunity it represents for our local economy. Projects like this are an important step toward strengthening Ohio’s energy independence while ensuring that rural communities share directly in the benefits of clean energy development.

Hillclimber Solar & Storage would provide a long-term source of investment for Champaign County, generating approximately $31 million over the life of the project. That funding would flow directly into our community through revenue, community benefit payments, and donations. Averaged out, this means more than half a million dollars each year that will support our county and communities without placing any additional burden on local taxpayers.

This investment would make a meaningful difference for our schools and essential services such as police and fire departments. Reliable funding from the project would help maintain and improve the services families depend on every day, while keeping local budgets stable. Importantly, these benefits are paid for by the project itself, not by Champaign County residents.

By approving Hillclimber Solar & Storage, the Ohio Power Siting Board can help Champaign County attract responsible economic development, create a more secure energy future, and ensure that local communities see real, lasting benefits. I urge the OPSB to support this project.
