Let's keep Maine's small businesses competitive
Dear [Lawmaker],
Maine’s small businesses deserve a balanced approach to data privacy, but unfortunately, LD1822 misses the mark. This bill hurts our ability to compete regionally and globally. It fails to set strong data privacy protections that also protect Maine small businesses. In a digital world, small businesses rely on online tools to reach and grow their customer base, market new products, share exciting promotions, and more. That’s why it’s so important that data privacy legislation protects consumer data without jeopardizing the tools that help our local businesses succeed. During this time of economic and job uncertainty, Maine small businesses can’t afford additional restrictions like those included in LD1822 that could hamstring their businesses or worse. Let’s keep Maine’s small business community strong and oppose LD1822.
Sincerely,
______
