Send another letter to remind Congress to support American Innovation – not harmful legislation that hurts America and benefits China.

Dear [Lawmaker],

I am writing to you again in defense of American technology, national security, small businesses and innovators by opposing harmful anti-innovation legislation. Such a misguided agenda would threaten our nation’s economy and cede America’s technological edge to foreign adversaries, such as China.

It matters which country – and which set of values – builds the future. China is already accelerating its lead over the United States in artificial intelligence (AI) patent filings. In fact, in 2022, Chinese institutions applied for an astounding 29,853 AI-related patents – 80 percent more than U.S. entities.

To effectively respond to China’s technological ambitions, our nation needs a coherent strategy that prioritizes accelerating innovation, protecting our national security and safeguarding our small businesses – the backbone of America’s economy. Policymakers need to focus on solutions that help – not hurt – our long term success.

Again, I strongly urge you to consider the unintended consequences of anti-innovation legislation in Washington that would inflict harm on our nation’s competitive edge. Instead, America’s leaders should focus on empowering our nation’s innovators, small businesses and cyber protections. The time for informed action is now.
