Caterpillar is celebrating its centennial this year. For 100 years, we have been helping our customers build a better, more sustainable world.

I am writing to respectfully request your vote in favor of the pro-growth tax provisions in the budget reconciliation bill to support the competitiveness and growth of U.S. manufacturing.

The 2017 tax law made important tax code modernizations that leveled the tax burden on U.S. companies to be more in line with foreign competitors, and incentivized investments in the United States.  These tax provisions played a role in the growth of Caterpillar’s U.S. exports, increase of our U.S. hourly workforce and investments in research and development.

To foster the next 100 years of Caterpillar manufacturing, these reforms to the tax code must continue to ensure that Caterpillar, our dealers and customers can remain competitive both at home and abroad. The tax policy in the reconciliation bill maintains the current corporate tax rate and restores incentives to invest in research and capital expenditures.

As one of your constituents, I hope I can count on you to vote in favor of the pro-growth tax provisions in the budget reconciliation bill.
