OPPOSE SB 948.
Dear [Lawmaker],
As a fellow resident of California and your constituent, I urge you to OPPOSE Senate Bill 948. SB 948 would dramatically expand California’s Firearm Safety Certificate (FSC) requirements by mandating a minimum eight-hour training course, including live-fire exercises and additional state-prescribed instruction. The bill would also require individuals moving into California to obtain a Firearm Safety Certificate within 60 days and submit documentation to the Department of Justice. These new mandates impose unnecessary burdens on law-abiding gun owners while doing nothing to address criminal misuse of firearms. Again, I urge you to OPPOSE SB 948 in the Senate.
