Expand federal offshore oil and natural gas leasing

Dear [Department of the Interior},

I’m writing to support the new federal offshore leasing program because it will help America lead the world in energy production. Expanding federal offshore oil and natural gas leasing means increased American energy dominance, creating thousands of jobs and making energy more affordable for families, individuals, and businesses.

Offshore development already provides about 14% of our total U.S. crude oil production and 2% of natural gas. With the new program, the US can build on its successful offshore legacy, one where the oil produced is some of the least carbon intense in the world.

For our country, this program will help make our energy affordable and reliable with less dependence on imports. It will also incentivize American companies to make capital investments domestically, further spurring growth and prosperity. Most importantly, this opportunity will create additional high-paying jobs in communities across the country providing upward mobility to a countless number of families.

I urge you to keep the proposed lease sales in unexplored areas and traditional production zones.
