Minnesota: Hearing on Semi-Auto and Magazine Bans Next Week
Dear [Lawmaker],
As a fellow Minnesotan, I urge you to OPPOSE HF 3433 and HF 3402 in your committee. HF 3433 bans commonly owned gas-operated semiautomatic firearms and standard-capacity magazines, directly violating the Second Amendment’s "common use" standard. Anyone who lawfully possesses a banned firearm must register them with the state before May 1st, 2027, and adhere to mandatory storage requirements thereafter. HF 3402 sets arbitrary magazine capacity restrictions and does not include a grandfather clause. Any magazine capable of holding over 10 rounds will need to be moved out of state, modified, destroyed, or surrendered to law enforcement. These bills do nothing to address crime in our state, and only penalize law-abiding gun owners. Again, I urge you to OPPOSE HF 3433 and HF 3402. Thank you for all that you do for our state.
