Colorado: Committee Hearing on Firearm Parts Regulation Bill Today
Dear [Lawmaker],
As a fellow Coloradan, I urge you to OPPOSE Senate Bill 26-042 in your committee. As written, SB 26-043: -Requires all firearm barrels must be sold or transferred in person through an Federal Firearms Licensee. Private and online sales are not permitted. -Establishes criminal and civil penalties for possession, transfer, and sale, including civil infractions to misdemeanors. -Mandates FFLs to record all sales and transfers using a form supplied by the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, which must be kept for at least five years. This effectively establishes a persistent registry of firearm owners. This bill does nothing to address crime in Colorado, and only penalizes law-abiding gun owners. Again, I urge you to OPPOSE SB 26-043. Thank you for all that you do for our state.
