Thank you for listening to the concerns of local businesses and community members who raised concerns about the D.C. Bottle Bill. We appreciate your thoughtful leadership and commitment to understanding the real impacts this legislation could have on the economy and residents.

From higher costs for families, burdens on small businesses and the concerns of fraud, this bottle bill does not look out for the needs of the District. We want to work towards a clean D.C. by improving recycling, but this bill would harm our economy and our communities more than it could help. By taking the time to fully evaluate the bill and urging your colleagues to consider all alternatives, you are helping protect the well-being of our city’s small businesses, employees, and our most vulnerable neighbors.
