Commit to Securing Our Water

Now is the time to invest in modern infrastructure, innovative technologies, and local resilience to ensure that all Americans have clean water.

Dear [Lawmaker],

Water is one of our most precious natural resources, and we must ensure every American has access to it. A majority of American voters are concerned about access to clean and safe water sources and believe it should be a top priority.

That’s why I’m asking you to commit to fighting for secure water supplies for all Americans. Many American communities, especially in the southwest, are vulnerable to the threat of drought, and they desperately need actionable solutions. Colorado River levels have declined by 20% over the past 100 years, with projections that it could decline by as much as 31% by 2050.

I ask that you:
- Build modern water storage infrastructure to capture and store clean water
- Invest in water supply-enhancing technologies such as desalination and cloud seeding
- Support voluntary programs that help farmers conserve water

Fighting drought and securing our water supply will both protect the environment and strengthen our economy. Thank you for your leadership on this issue.
