Supervisors are voting Monday to extend the wind moratorium – again!
Clinton County families, landowners, and taxpayers have made themselves clear:
It’s time to move forward. It’s time to end the moratorium.
Last year and again this summer, more than 1,000 local residents signed petitions urging the Board of Supervisors to let property owners use their land for wind energy if they choose.
Even Supervisors Irwin and George said the process had gone on too long and should not be extended again.
Yet here we are—another vote to delay progress and restrict landowners’ rights.
Why It Matters & Why You Should Act
- Property rights: Landowners deserve the freedom to decide how to use their land.
- Farm income: Wind projects help farmers stay afloat during tough times.
- Economic growth: New investment means new jobs, tax revenue, and opportunity for our county.
- No reason to delay: Supervisors can finish updating the wind ordinance without a moratorium in place.
What You Can Do
Your voice matters now more than ever but only if you ACT NOW.
Supervisors will vote Monday morning on whether to extend the moratorium.
