Tell Your Representatives That Hemp Stays in PA!

The PA legislature recently passed SB 49 out of committee – a direct attack on hemp-derived consumable products. This senseless attack on the hemp industry will devastate thousands of livelihoods and rupture hundreds of small business operations across Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvanians overwhelmingly support hemp products remaining legal and regulated – not banned.

Dear [Lawmaker],

I urge you to oppose any proposed hemp ban and crippling provisions, including SB 49 which recently passed out of committee. Please support backing commonsense regulations that protect Pennsylvania farmers, businesses, and consumers.

The 2018 Farm Bill was viewed as a new frontier for rural communities. Instead of recognizing the economic success and expanding further on its opportunity,  SB 49 would senselessly ruin the returns brought by the hemp industry and force consumers who depend on hemp-derived products to look for other pain-management solutions or turn to products made by foreign adversaries.

The economic impact on Pennsylvania would be irreversible:

- Thousands of Pennsylvania jobs lost in manufacturing, retail, and agriculture

- Family farms forced out of business after making legal investments

- Small businesses across the state shuttered overnight

Rather than an outright ban that destroys a billion dollar industry, Pennsylvania lawmakers should pursue commonsense regulations that protect consumers while preserving jobs. Hemp farmers, veterans, manufacturers, and small business owners across Pennsylvania are counting on your leadership.

-Clear labeling & packaging requirements
-3rd-party testing requirements
