Restore Equal Self-Defense Protections
Dear [Lawmaker],
As your constituent, I am writing regarding SF 2263 and the recent amendment adopted on the Senate floor. SF 2263 originally included important provisions allowing law-abiding, licensed Iowans to secure and carry firearms in their vehicles on university campuses and in K-12 school parking areas, including pick-up and drop-off locations. These commonsense protections were removed before the bill passed. I respectfully urge you to work to restore the stripped provisions and ensure that responsible, law-abiding citizens are afforded equal self-defense protections under Iowa law.
