Speak Up for Kalkaska — Email Lawmakers Today

Dear [Lawmaker],

As a resident of Kalkaska County, I’m writing to express my support for the proposed sale of state land to enable the development of a data center in our community.
I don’t take land use decisions lightly. Like many in our region, I was raised to respect and protect the land that sustains our way of life — whether it's hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying the outdoors. But I also recognize that responsible development can be part of a healthy, sustainable future for Kalkaska County.
From what I’ve learned, this project is being planned with environmental responsibility in mind and has the potential to bring real, lasting economic benefits to our region. It’s an opportunity to create good jobs, strengthen our local tax base, modernize our internet infrastructure, and ensure our children and grandchildren can find meaningful careers without having to leave Northern Michigan.
I trust that the Department of Natural Resources will ensure any land transaction is handled with care and oversight. I believe this project strikes the right balance between economic growth and environmental responsibility, and I respectfully urge you to support the sale of the land and allow this opportunity to move forward.
