I urge you to take immediate action in supporting the CONNECT for Health Act of 2025 (S. 1261) to expand access to telehealth services.
Telehealth increases access to care in areas with workforce shortages and for individuals who live far from health care facilities, have limited mobility or transportation, or face other barriers to accessing care. Telehealth now represents a critical component of care delivery, and the removal of outdated geographic restrictions is essential to building a more comprehensive and equitable telehealth system for Medicare beneficiaries.
The current limitations directly impact the health and well-being not only of the blind and low-vision communities, but also of people with disabilities and anyone facing geographic, mobility, or transportation challenges. With the use of modern telehealth technologies, including remote monitoring, specialized audio-visual platforms, and accessible user interfaces, the opportunity to expand resources to those under Medicare is now more feasible than ever. The bill’s provisions to permit broader telehealth services, reduce geographic restrictions, and support accessible technologies are exactly the kind of reforms needed!
