This legislation would increase prices for hardworking families and threaten thousands of New York jobs across our industry.

I’m writing as one of the thousands of hardworking New Yorkers in the state’s food and beverage industry to strongly oppose legislation A.1556E. This bill puts my career - and the careers of my colleagues - at risk.
The food and beverage industry is deeply rooted in New York. Through our jobs, we support our families, build communities, strengthen the economy and serve countless other businesses across the state.
This proposed legislation duplicates federal regulations already enforced by food safety experts. It adds unnecessary burdens on businesses without improving safety or transparency.
Unnecessary and confusing new rules that duplicate federal oversight create fear and uncertainty for families, raise grocery prices and add strain to New York businesses, including mine. When safe ingredients are treated like threats, shoppers are misled and trust in our food supply is undermined.
For consumers and workers across New York, this bill represents government overreach at its worst: replacing freedom of choice with more red tape and higher costs.
This isn’t the New York I know and love. We deserve real facts, not fearmongering. Warning labels, bans and burdensome regulations won’t make us healthier, save taxpayer dollars or improve government efficiency.
These restrictions threaten thousands of New York jobs and remove freedoms all New Yorkers deserve. Please stand with me and the entire food and beverage industry in opposing these harmful policies and rejecting A.1556E!
