Minnesota: Senate Gun Violence Prevention Working Group Meeting on Monday
Dear [Lawmaker],
As a fellow Minnesotan, I urge you to OPPOSE all gun control proposals in your special working group. Proposals the working group will review include a ban on privately made firearms ("ghost guns"), providing funding for the creation of a "Violence Prevention Project" specifically targeting studies on gun violence, repealing statewide firearm preemption to allow localities to create a patchwork of gun control ordinances, mandating training courses before a person can purchase or possess a firearm, and creating an office of Gun Violence Prevention. There are no proposals on the agenda for dealing with mental health problems or for enhancing school security. Again, I urge you to OPPOSE gun control proposals in this working group. Thank you for all that you do for our state.
