Dear [Senator],

I am writing to you today to urge your support of the Investment Tax Credit (48E) and Production Tax Credit (45Y)–currently threatened in the Reconciliation Bill--which are critical to developing reliable renewable energy projects that can quickly meet growing energy demand. These projects are quick to deploy, lead to infrastructure improvements, and provide jobs and stable income that can be reinvested in communities.

The 48E and 45Y tax credits are critical for the deployment of affordable and reliable energy across America, allowing energy projects to move forward while lowering costs for U.S. electric ratepayers. In fact, the Clean Energy Buyers Association (CEBA) projects an average 7% increase in U.S. residential electricity bills as soon as 2026 if these energy tax credits are repealed; some states could face a 29.5% increase for businesses and homeowners. Additionally, according to American Clean Power (ACP), the U.S. is projected to add up to 50% more power to the grid in the next 15 years due to increased demand from data centers, AI, and domestic manufacturing. This energy growth requires all-the-above energy policies— including those supported by 48E and 45Y energy tax credits.

As a resident of your state, I am concerned that the U.S. will have an even harder time keeping up with growing energy demand and energy infrastructure need if these tax credits are not preserved, resulting in continued reliance on foreign energy sources and increased cost for all Americans.
