Thank You for Championing Free-Market Consumer Protections
Dear [President Trump],
Thank you for delivering wins for hardworking Americans by reversing Biden’s bad policies, strengthening consumer protections, and championing innovation. Your leadership made clear why the Biden-era Section 1033 “open banking” Rule is unlawful. Silicon Valley fintechs are recycling the Biden CFPB’s false arguments claiming they need unfettered access to consumer data to survive or serve customers, while continuing to strike deals with major U.S. banks. That reality underscores a simple truth: free markets best serve consumers, delivering the transparency and accountability Americans deserve. The Trump Administration and judges have rightly doubled down against the “open banking” push. Consumers are being given a false choice between privacy and innovation. It’s not real. We can and should have both: A free market that protects privacy and drives innovation. And in what world does a private entity need price caps to survive? Central planning and interference in private business is bad for America. You recognized that, federal courts recognized that, and the only ones who haven’t are the companies being asked to pay. I support rewriting the Biden-era Section 1033 Rule and implementing narrow, common-sense protections that safeguard data, empower choice, and allow the free market to thrive. Thank you for standing up for hardworking Americans and for free market innovation. Please continue this work.
Sincerely,
______
