Currently, HB 1030 known as the Math Matters Act is moving through the Georgia House of Representatives. This legislation strengthens math outcomes by expanding access to advanced math courses. It also mirrors Georgia’s early literacy approach by requiring evidence-based instruction, targeted student supports and interventions, and stronger educator preparation. Additionally, the bill aims to boost learning in the upper elementary grades by requiring 60 minutes of daily math instruction in fourth and fifth grade.
