As your constituent, I believe that these policies are vital to allowing Medicare patients to access obesity treatments, removing the previous ban on coverage. As obesity rates continue to rise in the U.S, obesity comorbidities, such as heart disease, diabetes, and strokes, increase in parallel. Addressing these distressing trends requires a comprehensive approach, emphasizing prevention and evidence-based treatments. By supporting legislation that combats America’s obesity epidemic, policymakers in the U.S. can take a significant leap forward in promoting public health and overall well-being.
As your constituent, I kindly request that you support policies that improve obesity care, including the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act (S.1973/H.R. 4231).
