Support Clean Energy, The Right Way

Dear Prince Edward County Supervisors,

As a resident of Prince Edward County, I appreciate your efforts to balance renewable energy development with preserving our rural character, protecting agricultural land, and safeguarding our natural resources.

Renewable energy presents a major opportunity for our community. It can bring new jobs in a growing industry to Prince Edward County while generating tax revenue to improve schools, roads, and emergency services—all without raising taxes on residents.

Additionally, solar development aligns with our county’s agricultural roots. Allowing land to rest from traditional farming and incorporating native grasses, pollinator habitats, and grazing can enhance soil health, conserve water, and support local ecosystems.

I strongly believe that Virginia landowners should have the right to make decisions about their own land.

Leasing land for solar provides farmers and landowners with a reliable income, helping to keep family farms in operation while diversifying our energy sources and ensuring energy affordability.

I support renewable energy in Prince Edward County and recognize the importance of balancing development with local priorities.

However, I urge you to consider the significant benefits these projects offer and not let excessive restrictions stand in the way of our county’s economic future.
