Support HB 1324 and SB 499

Dear [Lawmaker],

As a Georgia resident and your constituent, I respectfully urge you to SUPPORT HB 1324 and SB 499 as they continue moving through the legislative process.

HB 1324, which has advanced from committee and will now be considered by the House Rules Committee, would remove firearm suppressors from Georgia’s list of dangerous weapons and eliminate state-level penalties for mere possession. Suppressors would remain strictly regulated under federal law through the National Firearms Act.

SB 499, which is scheduled to return to the Senate Judiciary Committee for further consideration, contains similar provisions and represents an important step toward protecting the rights of law-abiding citizens.

Importantly, enhanced criminal penalties for the unlawful use of a firearm equipped with a suppressor during the commission of certain crimes would remain unchanged. These measures protect responsible gun owners while maintaining strong consequences for criminal misuse.

I respectfully ask for your support of HB 1324 and SB 499 as they advance.
