Vote No on the single-serve alcohol ban!

Woke Mayor Quinton Lucas’s plan to ban single-serve alcohol won’t reduce crime.

It’s another example of the Mayor targeting small businesses while criminals run wild.

Dear [Councilmember],

I am writing to urge you to oppose the proposed single-serve alcohol ban.

Public safety is a serious concern, but single-serve bans are not a substitute for real law enforcement. These policies do not stop criminal behavior — they shift blame away from offenders and place it on lawful businesses and responsible consumers.

Kansas City already has laws on the books to address public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and other criminal activity. The problem is not a lack of rules, but a lack of consistent enforcement. We should be supporting police, enforcing existing laws, and holding individuals who break the law accountable — not passing symbolic bans that avoid the real issue.

Blanket restrictions punish small businesses while failing to deter bad actors. Real public safety comes from enforcement, consequences, and accountability.

I respectfully ask you to vote against the single-serve alcohol ban and focus on policies that support law enforcement and actually reduce crime.
