Rhode Island: Please Oppose S.359 and H.5436

I am writing as a concerned Rhode Island constituent to urge you to oppose Senate Bill 359 and House Bill 5436, which seek to impose a broad ban on commonly owned semi-automatic firearms in our state. These bills would restrict the manufacture, sale, purchase, and possession of firearms that are legal and commonly used by law-abiding citizens, including shotguns used for hunting. This legislation would unjustly target responsible gun owners and do nothing to enhance public safety, as criminals do not obey laws restricting firearms.
