Hold hospitals accountable for driving up healthcare costs!

Dear [Lawmaker],

I write to you today to urge you to stand up for constituents and ensure healthcare costs do not continue to increase uncontrollably.

Hospitals are driving up healthcare costs and families like mine are paying the price. Even affording a simple doctor’s appointment can feel out of reach. I’ve also recently become aware of just how much my local hospitals might be marking up care. This is especially noticeable in places where there aren’t many options to seek treatment. When this happens, far too many hardworking families have to choose between going into debt or forgoing their treatment. This is unacceptable.

Lawmakers like you must ensure that there is transparency and consistency in hospital costs, and cannot allow these markup practices to continue unchecked. We must hold hospitals accountable for their actions.

Your constituents are counting on you to protect our access to care by ensuring healthcare is priced fairly and Americans like me can afford care. We cannot afford to continue down this path.
