Tell the Senate to Protect American Solar Manufacturing Jobs

The U.S. solar industry is already creating hundreds of thousands of good-paying American jobs — and the potential for growth is enormous, especially if we manufacture more solar panels here at home.

But the Chinese headquartered companies are cheating our tax code to crush U.S. solar manufacturers, threaten American jobs, and undermine American energy dominance. Now, Senate Republicans are poised to dismantle critical investments in American solar manufacturing – surrendering American jobs and American energy dominance to China. We need Congress to cut off China, not American manufacturers.

Republicans in the Senate can fix this, but they need to hear from you. Tell the Senate to defend American solar manufacturing and invest in American workers.

Dear [Lawmaker],

As your constituent, I am very upset to learn that  the Senate version of the One Big Beautiful Bill would hand solar manufacturing jobs in our state to China. 
U.S. solar manufacturers are creating good-paying energy jobs, lowering energy costs, and strengthening American energy producers. Much of this investment is flowing to states that voted for President Trump. But Chinese headquartered companies are aggressively trying to crush American solar manufacturing by cheating our trade laws and our tax code. 
I’m glad that the bill includes provisions to cut off companies with close ties to the Chinese Communist Party and other “Foreign Entities of Concern” from accessing tax incentives meant for American energy manufacturers. I hope the Senate will protect these provisions to stop my tax dollars from funding CCP-backed companies. 
But the bill also cuts off tax credits that were designed to spur American investment and help us compete on a more equal playing ground with China. Ending these credits too soon will result in big job losses for American workers and a boon for Chinese manufacturers. The Senate must restore the tax credits for American solar manufacturers. 
It is outrageous that people in our state could see their jobs shipped to China because of this bill. 
Please don’t surrender America’s energy future to China.
