America’s independent oil and gas producers spend a significant amount of capital to develop new wells and production, with much of those costs going to labor and workforce. These costs (called intangible drilling costs or IDCs) have been deductible as business expenses so that producers can reinvest in American energy and local economies.

But a Biden tax rule changed that and now penalizes American producers—resulting in less production, less jobs, and higher energy costs.

The Promoting Domestic Energy Production Act fixes this—ensuring producers can continue deducting these costs, just as they always have, and as a result:
