Support SBA’s Push to Scrap Costly Federal Mandates: Sign the Petition
ABMA has been working closely with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy to ensure that the voice of the lumber and building materials industry is represented in Washington—and it’s making an impact.
The SBA recently released a report with more than 20 formal recommendations to federal agencies, urging the revision or elimination of regulations that create barriers for small businesses. This report was delivered directly to members of President Trump’s cabinet, and it includes two high-impact rules ABMA has been fighting to fix:

The OSHA Heat Illness Rule, which would impose one-size-fits-all mandates on fixed outdoor worksites, including lumberyards, with an estimated $8.2 billion in new compliance costs for small employers.

The Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) Rule, which blocks in-house CDL training and adds $5,000 to $10,000 per new driver in unnecessary costs for small fleets.
The good news? We have a seat at the table. This administration is focused on cutting red tape and making sure regulations work in the real world. But we need to demonstrate that these reforms have strong support from the businesses they affect most.
