Oppose Gun Control Legislation S.362
Dear [Lawmaker],
As a fellow resident of New York and your constituent, I urge you to OPPOSE Senate Bill 362, legislation that would impose an arbitrary 10-day waiting period on the lawful purchase of firearms. S.362 would do nothing to improve public safety. Instead, it would create unnecessary delays for law-abiding citizens seeking to exercise their Second Amendment rights. With instant computerized background checks already in place, waiting periods serve no legitimate purpose and only burden responsible gun owners. This legislation is especially concerning because it contains no exemptions for individuals who already legally own firearms and could deny critical self-defense protections to those facing urgent threats. Again, I respectfully urge you to OPPOSE S.362 in the Senate. Thank you for all that you do for our great state.
