Mayor Johnson is proposing to replace the $1.13 flat trip congestion fee with a costly 10.25% fee per trip on all of your rideshare trips that take place in Chicago. This fee would make rides more expensive and would be one of the highest rideshare charges in the entire country. Mayor Johnson has said it’s time for the “ultra wealthy” to pay more, but this latest proposal would hit working Chicagoans the hardest.
