Dear [Lawmaker],

I’m reaching out to your office because I’m worried some current conversations could make it harder to get prescriptions filled at local pharmacies. Theres already a lot of conversation about closures, and state action could make it worse, even if unintentional.

If my neighborhood pharmacy shuts its doors, picking up my medication turns into a long trip, not a quick errand. Plenty of neighbors would be in the same position, and that extra distance is a real barrier to care, one that can leave people worse off than they are today.

Lowering prescription costs matters, and efforts to reduce prices are appreciated. At the same time, sweeping structural changes risk undercutting access to life-saving medications and important services that people rely on.

Please stand against pharmacy closures that make it more complicated to get medicine. Affordable and accessible prescription services shouldn’t be a luxury, and they are essential for the health of our community.
