Oppose SB 830 and HB 1339
Dear [Lawmaker],
As a fellow Maryland resident and your constituent, I respectfully urge you to OPPOSE SB 830 and HB 1339. This legislation would grant sweeping authority to the Attorney General to determine which handguns may be sold in Maryland, including retroactive reviews that could remove commonly owned firearms from the state’s handgun roster. It also imposes vague testing standards, costly requirements, and new fees that would further restrict lawful firearm ownership. These measures would undermine transparency, eliminate meaningful oversight by the Handgun Roster Board, and create arbitrary barriers for law-abiding citizens seeking to exercise their Second Amendment rights. Again, I urge you to OPPOSE SB 830 and HB 1339. Thank you for your service to the people of Maryland.
