I urge you to reach an agreement that keeps healthcare affordable and accessible for Wisconsin families. While I value the care your hospitals provide, affordability is just as important for patients, families, employers, and local governments in our community.
Aspirus Health is already one of the most expensive health systems in Wisconsin, with prices nearly 16% higher than the state average. Now, you are seeking another more than 20 percent increase over the next three years. That would mean nearly $46 million in additional costs for patients and employers. These are costs our community simply cannot afford.
Anthem has proposed reasonable payment increases above the rate of inflation and in line with other Wisconsin hospitals. The proposal also includes millions in incentives to reward quality improvements like lower readmissions, better diabetes control, and lower infection rates.
Please put patients first by working toward an agreement that avoids disruption, improves affordability, and ensures access to high-quality care.
