I am writing today to express my support for the upcoming data center projects in St. Joseph County. These future focused initiatives are supported by numerous local officials due to their long-lasting economic benefits for St. Joseph County and minimal disruption to our community.

Due to new technology and design, these data centers will not be an industrial blight on our farmland, but rather look like a sleek, wood paneled campus. Additionally, new technology will allow the data centers to operate without straining our local water supply. AEP already has the capacity to support the electric needs of these projects, and Indiana law prevents rate increases for consumers due to data centers. These projects present no risk of harm to our residents, but we have everything to gain.

Indiana is uniquely positioned to take charge in America’s fight against China in the global AI race, and data centers will elevate St. Joseph County to a center of American innovation.

Not only will these projects support our country, but we will reap economic benefits right here at home. The data center will provide hundreds of high paying jobs, increased local revenue, and can mitigate future tax increases. Economic investment and more lucrative job opportunities will make St. Joseph County economically competitive for years to come, ensuring our children and grandchildren have opportunities right here at home.

I urge you to vote YES on the upcoming data center projects to support St. Joseph County’s economic prosperity. A vote against the data center is a vote against our children’s future.
