Virginia: Wytheville Town Council to Vote on Gun Control Ordinance on Monday
Dear [Lawmaker],
As a fellow resident of Wytheville, I urge you to OPPOSE the proposed ordinance to create gun-free zones in our town. Gun-free zones create arbitrary boundaries where law-abiding citizens are disarmed, while zero measures are taken to prevent criminals from entering. Additionally, recent data shows that over 95% of mass casualty events occur in gun-free zones, highlighting the fact that such zones empower criminals to target "soft targets" where law-abiding citizens are disarmed. This ordinance would only decrease public safety and endanger individuals living in or visiting Wytheville. Again, I urge you to OPPOSE this ordinance. Thank you for all that you do for our town.
