Special Education Day at the State Capitol

We’re so excited to host a capitol day on March 3rd. Here are a few details about the visit.

We will get started around 9 am at the State Capitol. If something changes and you can’t make it please let us know as soon as possible.

9am – 10:30am

– Breakfast

– Connect with a number of Representatives and Senators

– Quick training on lobbying and identifying your lawmakers.

– Group picture

10:30 – 12pm

– Speak with lawmakers on the ropes and check out the capitol.

Where do we meet? TBD in the Georgia State Capitol.

What do I wear? Business casual. PLEASE WEAR YELLOW. (There is a lot of walking so wear comfortable shoes.)

Things to bring: Your state I.D. or Driver’s License

What should I say? What will we lobby on? This is a great opportunity to introduce yourself and share your story with lawmakers. Together, we want to highlight the strengths and contributions of the disability community while also fostering a constructive conversation about how we can better support students with disabilities in our education system.
