As a Parish resident and a strong supporter of our oil and gas industry, thank you for your continued support of the energy industry. I urge you to continue opposing litigation against the industry and follow President Trump’s executive order calling for an end to these weaponized lawsuits.

Trial lawyers have been pushing coastal litigation against our state’s number one industry for a decade and costing our economy up to $113 million each year. These lawsuits do not prioritize coastal protection and could actually divert money from much-needed restoration projects.

The Lafourche Parish Council recently voted against suing oil companies. They made the right call in the end, but it never should have come up for a vote in the first place.

Don’t let this happen in our region.

Freedom. Prosperity. The right to earn a living and raise a family. That’s what our community stands for. Not lawsuits that hurt folks, kill jobs, and smother growth.

Please — don’t even entertain the idea of joining these reckless lawsuits.

Take a stand. Send a clear message to the trial lawyers: Louisiana needs to lead, not litigate.

That includes supporting President Trump’s executive order to stop weaponized coastal lawsuits.

The success of the oil and gas industry directly supports coastal restoration funding in our area. Lawsuits end relationships. They don’t help them.

Stand with President Trump and against actions that threaten to stop progress and limit the economic potential of our region. We do not have to choose between the energy industry and our coast.

Both can—and do—thrive here.
