OPPOSE Senate Bill 118.

As a fellow resident of Maryland and your constituent, I urge you to OPPOSE Senate Bill 118. SB 118 would impose an 11% excise tax on firearms, firearm accessories, and ammunition. This proposal unfairly targets law-abiding gun owners exercising their Second Amendment rights while doing nothing to address criminal misuse of firearms. Instead, it would simply increase costs for responsible citizens seeking to lawfully purchase firearms, ammunition, and related equipment. Again, I urge you to OPPOSE SB 118 in the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee. Thank you for all that you do for our great state.
