The project developer has made significant commitments that demonstrate they are a responsible partner for Joliet. They are fully funding a new switching station - meaning local families and businesses get a stronger, more resilient energy system without higher monthly bills.

The project is also engineered to protect our natural resources. The closed-loop cooling system recycles water rather than drawing down local supplies, ensuring that our water remains protected for residents. Combined with low-traffic, low noise, and industry-leading environmental standards this is a responsible low-impact development that fits for Joliet.

And finally, the long-term economic benefits are substantial. Tens of millions in new tax revenue that can support schools, public safety, roads, and other essential services - without raising taxes on residents. Partnerships with Joliet Junior College will expand training opportunities and build real career pathways for local students and workers. At the same time, it will create thousands of construction and operations jobs over its lifetime - delivering real economic opportunity for working families.

For these reasons, I urge you to support the Joliet Technology Center and move our community forward.
