On behalf of Sevita, I write to urge you to oppose any legislation that would enact cuts to Medicaid. Sevita is a leading provider of home- and community-based services for individuals with complex needs across the United States. While our organization receives funding from a variety of sources, Medicaid remains a critical pillar in delivering the supports that so many individuals and families rely on every day.

Under the Sevita family of companies, our three divisions work together to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), children with autism and other specialized behavioral needs, and individuals navigating neurological challenges such as traumatic brain injury (TBI) or stroke. Across our programs, we serve over 745 individuals in New Jersey, and we proudly employ more than 1290 professionals dedicated to delivering compassionate, person-centered care.

Medicaid is not just a health insurance program—it is a lifeline. It enables access to essential services that promote independence, safety, dignity, and quality of life. Proposed reductions to this funding would have devastating consequences for the people we serve and the workforce that supports them.

Specifically, the Senate-passed budget reconciliation bill includes proposals that would:

•	Jeopardize access to community-based services, increasing waitlists and leading to unnecessary and costly institutionalization.

•	Undermine the networks of care that families and individuals rely on for stability and day-to-day functioning.

•	Further destabilize an already strained workforce, making it even harder to recruit and retain qualified professionals.

•	Shift unsustainable costs onto state budgets, triggering deep service cuts, program closures, and the elimination of essential supports.

These changes would put the most vulnerable members of our communities at risk. Families would be left without support. Individuals would lose access to the services that allow them to live with dignity in the community. Programs that took decades to build could be dismantled.

Congress should be strengthening Medicaid - not cutting it. I strongly urge you to reject any proposal that would slash Medicaid funding and put services for individuals with I/DD, TBI, autism, and children in therapeutic foster care at risk.
