As your constituent, I am urging you to oppose Democrats’ attempts to hold the government hostage in order to force through permanent Obamacare subsidy expansions and restrictions on rescissions authority. These proposals would drive up premiums, funnel billions to insurance companies, encourage fraud, and add hundreds of billions of dollars to our national debt—all while undermining the ability to eliminate wasteful federal spending.

The so-called “Biden COVID credits” were always billed as temporary pandemic measures, yet Democrats now want to make them permanent, at a cost of $448 billion over the next decade. At the same time, they want to weaken a vital tool that allows presidents of both parties to propose targeted spending cuts, ensuring that taxpayer dollars aren’t wasted on unnecessary or harmful programs.

Please stand firm against these demands. Support the clean continuing resolution that responsibly funds government operations without burdening taxpayers with permanent new entitlements or gutting spending oversight. Reject Democrats’ reckless counter plan and work to protect fiscal responsibility in Washington.
