Support Ochoa Energy Storage

Dear Mayor Thiele, Members of the City Council, and Members of the City Planning and Zoning Commission,
As a resident of Katy, I am writing to express my strong support for the Ochoa Energy Storage project. This project can bring significant benefits to our community, particularly in terms of the affordability and reliability of our electricity supply.
By providing reliable energy to the grid, Ochoa Energy Storage can help stabilize electricity prices and reduce the frequency of costly power outages. The project will also contribute to our city’s economic growth by generating more than $39 million in new tax revenue for local infrastructure, schools, and services.
The location of the Ochoa Energy Storage project was strategically chosen to maximize the benefits to the city and the ERCOT grid. The project would be constructed on an industrial-zoned parcel directly adjacent to a major transmission line, which makes it the best use for the property in terms of both zoning and grid reliability.
I urge you to support this project and ensure its successful implementation, as it will enhance our city's energy security and economy.
