Oppose Senate Bill 261
Dear [Lawmaker],
As a law-abiding New Mexico gun owner and your constituent, I urge you to OPPOSE Senate Bill 261. This legislation expands firearm prohibitions around polling locations and ballot drop boxes, creating confusing and arbitrary boundaries that could criminalize responsible citizens who have no intent to interfere with the voting process. Lawful recorded carry should not become a crime simply because someone unknowingly passes near a temporary restricted area, especially when ballot drop boxes may be placed in everyday public locations. SB 261 punishes those who follow the law while doing nothing to stop criminals who ignore it. Again, I respectfully urge you to OPPOSE Senate Bill 261.
