Take Action Dashers

Dear [Lawmaker],

I am a driver on DoorDash. As your constituent, I welcome you to Congress! As a member of Congress, you have the unique opportunity to shape policies that empower individuals across the nation and strengthen local communities. I am writing to you today to ask that you consider drivers like me too as you work on those policies.

Driving with DoorDash allows me to earn a supplemental income to do things like supporting my family, education, and/or health, while having the freedom and flexibility to choose when, where, and how I dash. This flexibility is vital. Not just for me, but for millions of others who balance work with their personal and professional lives.

As a Dasher, tips make up a large part of my earnings and reflect the work I put into each delivery. As policy continues to evolve around taxes on tips, I hope you keep Dashers and other independent workers like me in mind.

As Congress continues to explore ways to improve independent workers’ lives, I believe flexible work and meaningful benefits can go hand in hand. I urge you to work with other members of Congress to help us get access to benefits without having to sacrifice our independence and flexibility.

Please keep Dashers like me in mind as you consider policies affecting independent workers across the nation. Thank you for your consideration.
